Brakspear, the Oxfordshire brewer and pub owner, saw turnover for the six months ended 30 June increased to 24% to £9.3m from £7.5m with operating profit up 19% to £1.6m.

The results include turnover for Honeypot Inns at £2m , where there was an operating loss of £200,000. Brakspear's real ale sales are up by 7%, against the background of a declining national ale market.

The profit on property disposals during the period was £300,000 and headline earnings per share increased by 45% to 12p.

The interim dividend will be increased by 10% to 3.3p.
