Burger King plans to open another 30 outlets in The Netherlands in the next three years to take it to 53.

Most of the new outlets will be drive-ins. At present the company only has one drive-in in the country.

Expansion will cost about $1.5m to $2m (£1.02m to £1.36m) per outlet.

Burger King will take over 11 restaurants from Transautx, a franchise holder, as well as Transauxtex's share in a joint venture with the Dutch railways operator Nederlandse Spoorwegen, which operates nine Burger Kings at stations.
