Marylebone Warwick Balfour (MWB), the hotel operator, is reportedly looking at the possibility of launching a new standalone restaurant chain called Bistro Du Vin – a spin-off from its upmarket Hotel Du Vin estate. The group, which is led by Richard Balfour-Lynn, is said to believe that such a concept would work well in at least eight London locations – including Notting Hill and the City. A report in the City Diary column of The Times also suggests that MWB would look to rollout the concept across the country. The company already operates two Pub Du Vins in Brighton and in Birmingham. In January this year the company raised £27.5m via a share placing.
