Maximum stakes on the category of fruit machine found in bingo halls and adult gaming centres is to double to £2 this summer, and more higher-stake machines will be permitted, under plans unveiled by the Government. The changes relate to B3 machines, which have a maximum prize limit of £500. At the moment adult gaming centres are only allowed a maximum of four B3s, while bingo premises can have up to eight. The change will mean 20% of their overall total of gaming machines can be B3s. The changes follow a public consultation held last year and are expected to come into effect before Parliament goes into summer recess on 20 July, according to the Department for Culture, Media & Sport.
