Half a dozen restaurants and bars will be included in Dickens World, a theme park based on the author of Oliver Twist and David Copperfield, planned for the former Chatham Docks, in Kent. Businessman Kevin Christie has secured £62m financing from Bank of Scotland for the project, which will feature themed rides and other attractions around characters in the writer’s novels against a backdrop of 19th-century architecture. Christie aims to complete the scheme by next March. Financial Times 08/07/06 page 3
