Women are using their hands to shield drinks in bars and pubs as fears grow about "date rape" drugs, according to a report in The Independent on Sunday. But many police officers believe that alcohol rather than Rohypnol or GHB is the most-common "date rape" drug. Statistics show the number of victims who have consumed alcohol before being raped has more than doubled in a decade. The amount of alcohol consumed has also risen.
