Thailand plans to ban alcohol advertising from next month. Binge-drinking is on the rise in Thailand as young Thais drink an estimated 8.5 litres of alcohol every year. A ban on alcohol advertising would jeopardise next year’s Johnnie Walker Classic golf tournament in Phuket as well as the Bangkok Rock Festival, which receives sponsorship from the drinks industry.
