A helping of coffee can boost IQ by three points in the short term, Kevin Warwick, professor of cybernetics at Reading University, claimed on Thursday. Warwick's study of first year students at Reading also showed that for those who didn't like the taste of coffee, watching chat shows was another way to boost intelligence in the near term, particularly for women. Professor Warwick attributed the increase in IQ to relaxation of the brain, and added meditation would have a similar effect.
