Scottish rugby fans will be able to drink alcohol during the forthcoming World Cup matches at Murrayfield. Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny McAskill has lifted the ban on alcohol sales at sports grounds where international rugby is taking place. The ale of alcohol was banned at stadiums across Scotland after the 1980 Scottish Cup Final between Rangers and Celtic, when police had to deal with fights between drunken supporters. Tories now want to see the ban lifted at football grounds as well. The Times 9/2/07 page 27 Daily Mail 9/2/07 page 4, page 117, page 119
