The Robert Cains Brewery has met with health officials in Liverpool to discuss responsible drinking, in line with the government’s alcohol harm reduction strategy. Sudarghara Dusanj, the company’s joint managing director, said: "As I’ve said before, brewers have a duty to promote sensible drinking and if our industry doesn’t help tackle the problem of reckless drinking, we will wake up one morning and find that the Government has decided to tackle it for us." Sudarghara and Ajmail, his brother and joint managing director, met nine of the UK's regional directors of public health at Dr Duncan’s pub in St John’s Square, Liverpool. Professor Dr. John Ashton, who hosted the meeting, said: "As brewery owners, the Dusanj brothers have shown great courage in actively promoting a more responsible attitude to alcohol."
