The government is planning an advertising campaign to try and combat binge drinking, according to a report in the Daily Mirror. The newspaper reports that the campaign, expected to cost at least £3m, will feature scenes of out-of-control drunks in town and city centres and will warn youngsters that they risk becoming victims of sexual and violent assaults. It will say binge drinkers are inflicting severe damage on their health by going on weekend binges. The campaign is mooted to run over Christmas.
