The French are on their way to becoming a nation of alcoholics, reports The Daily Telegraph.
One in 12 of them are, apparently “anxious for the drink”.
The newspaper says it is little wonder considering they produce claret, burgundy, sauternes, cognac, armagnac, calvados and champagne.
