Amusement machines maker and distributor Inspired Gaming is close to selling its pubs division to rival Danoptra in a move that could save 850 jobs. The leisure group is also thought to be close to completing a £40m fundraising exercise, according to The Sunday Times, which reports that part of the proceeds will be used to meet the cost of its exit from the pubs business, which has suffered because of the smoking ban. Danoptra is in advanced talks to acquire the business and merge it with its existing operation, resulting in taking on the 850 workers in Inspired’s pubs arm and 30,000 gaming machines.
