The government has ignored Trades Union Congress calls to extend the powers of the Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA) to cover the hospitality sectors. Unions say gangmasters have been switching to the sector from agriculture, food processing and shellfishing as well as construction to avoid the attention of the GLA.
