Pod, the healthy fast food concept, led by founder and chief executive Tim Hall, will open its 23rd site in London today, after a reporting a rise in like-for-like sales. The group, which plans to grow its estate to up to 50 sites by 2014, will open an 80-cover site in Leather Lane, with further openings in the pipeline for before the end of the year. Hall told M&C Report that the group’s recent acquisition of the Café Mana business and subsequent openings during the summer had been a “big success” despite trading conditions in the City being quite challenging during the Olympics. He said: “However everybody fortunately seems to be back at work now as this week has been a big success for us, up 8% on a like-for-like basis.”
