Ultimate Leisure has recorded a fifth consecutive year of record results. Pre-tax profit rose by 31% to £8.9m for the late license bar and nightclub operator. Operating profit rose by 24% to £9.7m and turnover was up by 35% to £35.7m. Earnings per share was up 3% 27.3p Chairman Allan Rankin said: "These results have been achieved despite the increasingly competitive trading environment on the high street and the performance of our sites throughout this period reassures me as to the longevity of our business model." EBITDA for the year was £10.9m compared to £8.8m in 2003, and the company achieved a return on sales of 25%, one of the highest figures in the industry, it said. The company raised £20m through the year and used this expand into the north of England and Northern Ireland. Three new sites have been acquired in Belfast and openings this year occurred in Dery and Durham. Net debt has been reduced to £6.4m from £22.3m last year. A dividend of 6.6p will be paid out on 8th November, compared to 6.0p last year.
