Asia Pacific Breweries has outbid SABMiller to emerge as the frontrunner in the race for Foster's Asian brewing operations. Scottish & Newcastle has pulled out after purchasing ownership of the brand in Europe. The operations include one plant in China, another in India and two in Vietnam. They are expected to fetch in the region A$200m (£83.2m). APB already brews Tiger and Heineken and has operations throughout the region. The Sunday Telegraph 30/04/06 (Business) page B2
