C&C Group has seen its profits boosted by the success of its Magners cider brand. Revenue at the company rose 9.4% to Eu419.5m (£287.9m) in the six months to 31 August, pushing profit before finance costs 10.3% to Eu68.4m. Maurice Pratt, the company’s chief executive, said: "This financial performance reflects a better than expected contribution from the group's cider division. "Magners has exceeded our expectations in the UK while Bulmers, with the benefit of good summer weather, delivered strong growth in Ireland." Sales at the company's cider division were up 28.2% to Eu144.5m.
