Administrators for collapsed leisure park company Pontin's were this weekend trying to thrash out a last-minute deal with boutique asset management company Bluebird Partners. Until the late arrival of Bluebird, which was set up only last April and which claims to have experience in the caravan parks industry, the frontrunner for the five Pontin's parks was understood to be Britannia Hotels. Britannia is a Manchester-based company that owns the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool and the Grand hotel in Llandudno. A partner at Bluebird confirmed it was looking at a number of opportunities 'and Pontin's is one'. Bluebird is believed to have teamed up with Peter Bull, founder of Clinque Ports Leisure.
