Chief executive Tony Froggatt and his Scottish & Newcastle management team are signing up to new remuneration package that will reward improvements to the top line. Instead of being based purely on economic profit, it will include an element of rewarding sales growth (net of duty). It will be introduced first at group level before being applied across all divisions. The Sunday Times Business Editor, John Waples, says this is a clear signal that Froggatt believes he can get growth out of mature markets through innovation and premium pricing. S&N reported a strong set of results last week and the share price closed at513p, just off the three-year high of 522p. The Sunday Times 26/02/06 (Business) page 3.4
