William Chase, the potato farmer who made a fortune with Tyrrells crisps and Chase vodka, has swapped spuds for apples with his latest venture, cider. He plans to launch a premium cider made at his Chase Distillery from the organic apples grown at his Herefordshire orchard, which also go into his branded gin. Chase founded Chase Distillers two years ago, having sold 75% of Tyrrells to Langholm Capital, the private equity firm, pocketing an estimated £40m. The Mail on Sunday
