Long Black Ltd, the owner and operating company of the St Ali and Sensory Lab coffee concepts, has rebranded itself as Workshop Trading (London) Ltd, while its two existing sites in London will now operate under the Workshop Coffee Co. name. The company said the rebrand would reflect its “artisan approach to speciality coffee and food, and the environment in which it can be enjoyed”.  St Ali, the coffee bar and restaurant concept, opened its first UK unit on the former site of Dust in Clerkenwell, in April last year. The original St Ali site is based in Melbourne. Sister concept, the Sensory Lab, which is a “high-end retail concession blending a sensory experience with take away superior quality coffee at affordable market prices”, opened in Wigmore Street later in the year. Workshop Trading, which is led by James Dickson and backed by investment vehicle Tarncourt Investments, is understood to be looking at opening further sites across the UK under both formats. James Dickson, executive director of Workshop Trading (London) Ltd, said: “We are extremely grateful and humbled by the positive support we’ve received since we opened and promise to continue providing the same service, quality menus and freshly roasted coffee in our outlets.”
