Norfolk real ale pubs The Fat Cat and The Shed have launched a microbrewery. The Fat Cat Brewing Company will initially produce two beers: Fat Cat Golden Ale, a 3.8% light session bitter and Fat Cat Top Cat, a stronger brew at 5%. The facility will be located across the road from The Shed, on Lawson Road, Norwich. The master brewer will be Ray Ashworth, creator of 2005 Champion Bitter of Britain title winner Wherry. Fat Cat landlord Colin Keatley said: "We have two beers on the go at the moment and we hope eventually to have three regular beers: mild, medium and strong, but all light in colour with a fruity, hoppy style." The Fat Cat was recently named National Pub Of The Year by the Campaign for Real Ale for the second time.
