Le Pain Quotidien, continental bakery concept, has secured the former Balans site in London’s Chiswick. The group, which is set to reach the 20-site mark in the UK by the end of March, has applied for planning permission to make some alterations to the building before opening later this year. The international chain will open a 1,446sq ft site later this month in Connaught Village on the corner of Kendal Street and Connaught Street. It will follow the Kendal Street site with the opening of a unit in Soho’s Wardour Street. Le Pain currently has operates over 80 stores in more than 10 countries worldwide including, the Middle East and the US, where it is now based. Balans currently operates seven sites across London under its bar and brasserie concept, plus a further three in the US.
