Cobra Beer is to move its brewery operations back to the UK from Poland. It is to form a new brewing partnership with Camerons Brewery in Hartlepool and to extend its existing one with Wells and Young’s in Bedford. Chief executive Adrian McKeon said the move would save the Indian-themed lager brand company £3m a year. The company switched most of its brewing operations to Browar Belgia in Poland in 2005. It has been hit by growing transportation costs and the increased value of the Polish zlotty. It was prompted to review its operations when SABMiller acquired the Browar brewery in August.
