A leading licensing lawyer has urged English and Welsh publicans to act swiftly in renewing their personal licences, following new figures that show thousands of Scottish licences are set to be revoked after holders failed to meet Government deadlines.
The Government has finally published the regulations which revise the application form which must be used to renew personal licences from 5 January 2014.
The Home Office has published its guidance outlining how publicans need to renew personal licences, but has not yet provided the new application form or set a date for when the deregulation of the licences will come into force.
The pub trade is still awaiting clarification from the Home Office regarding the application forms that need to be completed to renew personal licences.
